Profile
The Baú project is located approximately 100 kilometres from Premier, close to the regional hub of Uraçu (population 33,000) and the 'mining town' of Alto Horizonte. Alto Horizonte contains mining support businesses, such as drilling, assaying, surveying, earthmoving and is home to a skilled mining workforce.
History
Gold mineralization in the Bau Project area was discovered in the late 18th century and the initial Garimpo mining activity focused on alluvial gold from the Bau and Ouro Fino creeks. Approximately 50,000 tonnes have been excavated with old-fashioned techniques from just one point of an exposed vein. Historic sampling of the vein shows grades as high as 329g/t.
